Most of us use honey to sweeten our tea or cure our colds. What you don’t realize is that honey can also be used in our beauty routines. Long before we had Neutrogena, Aveeno, or the Clarisonic … there was honey! Cleopatra was even known to bathe regularly in milk and honey. Honey is known to have several antioxidant properties and also protects your skin from the powerful sun. You don’t need to go out and spend a fortune on beauty treatments. You can easily make most of them right at home with common ingredients in your pantry. No need to worry about chemicals because everything you need is all natural. One of the main ingredients is HONEY!
- Make A Honey Lip Scrub: Combine honey, olive oil, and sugar together to make a homemade lip scrub. This will keep your lips soft by removing the dead skin cells off. The sugar gently exfoliates while the honey nourishes. The olive oil will keep your lips moisturized and smooth. No one likes dry lips so why not use all natural products to cure them? All you need is 2 Teaspoons of sugar, 1 Teaspoon of honey, and 1 Teaspoon of Olive Oil to create your own lip scrub.
- Soften Your Hair With Sweetness: Water, Olive Oil, and Honey are the perfect components to make a moisturizing conditioner for dry hair. It leaves your locks soft and silky. Apply to hair and let sit for 10-20 minutes. Then rinse out with warm water twice and comb hair out gently. Honey attracts and also seal in moisture to cure dry split ends.
- Honey Face Mask: By whisking a tablespoon of honey, 1 egg white, 1 teaspoon of glycerin and about 1/4 cup of flour you will your own firming face mask.Once your mixture is ready you apply it all over the face and allow to penetrate for 15 minutes. - Honey Spot Treatment: Mix 3 tablespoons of honey and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon in a small dish. Since honey is full of antibacterial components and cinnamon stops the growth of bacteria they make the perfect pair in fighting acne. After the two are mixed together you can apply to the affected area and allow to sit for 15 minutes. You can repeat this a few times a week until the blemishes fade away.

I love these tips but have a question. What ratio would I use for the hair treatment? I have long hair so I would need to use a cap to contain it all for the right length of time. Don't want to take the cap off to a super sticky mess, lol!

For the hair I believe it's 1/2 a cup of honey, 1 to 2 tablespoons of olive oil. The olive oil will loosen the honey so it's not so thick and easier to apply. If your hair is longer or thicker you may want to experiment and double the ingredients. 🙂
