We may have said adiós to Cinco De Mayo but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy authentic Mexican meals all month long from the comfort of home. Old El Paso makes this possible with their convenient handcrafted meals for 2 . These can now be found within the frozen aisle of your nearby grocery store. Whether you enjoy a hearty burrito for lunch or spicy enchiladas for dinner, Old El Paso has a variety of flavorful meals to tantalize your tastebuds. With eight different flavors of fajitas, enchiladas, quesadillas and burritos, these entrees are sure to fulfill your dinner needs any night of the week. These are SO good that they will leave you and your family saying, “There is no way that’s frozen!” Even my picky little Toodie loves them too.
Given the opportunity to try the Old El Paso Frozen Entrees I picked up a few different packages which included beef and chicken. I love chicken quesadillas whether they are at a restaurant or at home so I was excited to see that Old El Paso made these. They’re simple to prepare and the medley of flavors from the veggies and meats will leave you with a savory bite each and every time. They are conveniently packaged and each quesadilla comes in a sleeve of its own making them easy to pack for lunch or a quick snack during the day.
The quesadillas are filled with queso cheese, honey chipotle seasoned chicken strips and salsa verde. All of these delicious ingredients are wrapped in a flour tortilla that can easily be popped in the microwave for 2-3 minutes before serving. If you like your quesadillas crispy you can add a special “restaurant style” touch to the outside by cooking them in a skillet. After a few flips your quesadilla will have that light brown crispy coating on the outside while the contents stay moist and juicy. Dip in your favorite salsa or guacamole. I love mine with a little sour cream so balance out the heat and spice.
After they cooled off these were so yummy! They honestly don’t even need any toppings or dipping sauces. All of the spices and flavors compliment one another to a T. It was hard to believe that I made these at home and under 5 minutes. They looked and tasted like something you would find at a Mexican restaurant. Frozen? You would never know it. I could fool anyone in my house with these and I bet you could too. If you are looking for a quick and easy meal for your family, stop by the freezer section next time you’re at the store. Old El Paso has something for the beef, chicken, and steak lovers!
