Part of growing up means ditching the sippy cup and moving on to a big kid’s glass. At 2 years old Toodie was already showing interest in starting the transition. I began teaching her using a small orange juice glass and soon after we were able to eliminate all of the plastic cups in our cabinets. Today Toodie uses tiny glasses regularly and even though she began early, I still have the fear that she will drop her drink and tiny shards will go flying. Thanks to Moms Meet I was introduced to a durable drinking glass designed for kids and made by a mom just like me!
The Kupp’ was created by Katesplace founder Kate Oliver as a tool to help her young boys learn accountability and responsibility. She gave each of her children their very own glass in a different color and put them in charge of their cup. This included the responsibilities that came with it including setting the table, washing, and putting it away. She quickly discovered that she had a cleaner kitchen and her family consumed less plastic. As a result, the Kupp’ was born.
So what exactly is “The Kupp’?” It’s a six ounce BPA free kids drinking glass with a colorful silicone sleeve- red, blue, lime green, or orange. It has been created for children between the ages of 3-10 and its design makes it easy for little hands to hold while keeping a good grip. You don’t have to worry about this slipping out of your child’s hand and landing on the floor in a million pieces! Along with the firm grip, the silicone sleeve also helps to protect the glass from damage while providing a toxic free vessel to drink from.
The size of the cup itself makes it easy to distribute the right amount of beverage to your child. Typically Toodie loves to choose the largest cup in the cabinet and have me fill it to the brim while we both know she will never finish it. The Kupp’ allows me to control this and also teaches her to be more conscious about wasting. Her tiny fingers fit perfectly within the handle and I can tell she really enjoys having her own personalized glass of her size.
You can put them in dishwasher or have your child wash their individual cup in the sink after each use. The silicone sleeve and glass come apart so you can easily switch out the colors as desired. It is not necessary to take them apart when washing but this does come in handy if you get any sticky juice or milk in the crevices. While The Kupp’ is normally used for drinking, we also used it for ice cream. You can fit a few small scoops of ice cream and toppings in this little guy. Great portion control when you don’t want sugar induced lunatics running around!

This is just the type of drinking cup that my nephew needs. The colors are so pretty and I like that it does not have any BPA in this drinking cup!
