When Toodie was born she had a full head of jet black hair that quickly formed into tight curls when she became a toddler. I was thrilled that she inherited her father’s curly hair instead of my own. Mine has always been a mixture of wavy and straight, the kind that HAS to be washed and styled everyday to look decent. Luckily, Toodie has been blessed with a head of beautiful healthy hair. While those tight ringlets only lasted a few short years before her first real hair cut, today she has loose curls that tend to get tangled easily. SoCozy products at Target have helped transform the unwanted knots and rat nests back to smooth bouncy locks.
Having a daughter with long curly hair takes extra work and can be difficult to care for on a daily basis without the right products. I used to struggle with how to manage it because I never experienced the pain of chaotic curls or tangled bed head myself. While I can brush through mine with ease, hers takes much more tender love and care. I have to wash it gently everyday and make sure it’s thoroughly conditioned before combing it out. Otherwise it’s a painful process and I only get about half way through before she runs out of the bathroom. SoCozy’s kid-friendly hair care products have made the process much easier and also given Toodie independence when it comes to taming her own mane.
Independence has been a primary focus of ours this summer because in a few short months Toodie will be entering first grade. Last weekend her bedroom had a “BIG GIRL” makeover in hopes of encouraging her to become more involved in daily tasks like making her own bed, folding her laundry, and keeping her space clean. I have noticed an immediate change in her attitude towards her new room and the past few days she has been eager to do just about everything without my help including her own hair! She even asked me to move her hair care items from the bathroom to the bedroom so she could organize them. Now her brushes, bows, clips, and products have their own home 0n the dresser.
I have learned the trick to getting your kids to do their own hair is making everything they need easily accessible and providing specialized products made just for them. A small organizing tray can be used to keep their accessories and styling tools together. SoCozy’s products are safe for them to use without supervision and have comfortable packaging for little hands to hold. Their bright designs also look really fun on display!
One of my favorite styling products that I have been buying Toodie for quite a while is the So Cozy Cinch Detangler + Leave-In Conditioner. This stuff is a miracle in a bottle and what good hair days are made from. I can’t tell you how many detanglers I have purchased but I can tell you how many have worked, two. This being one of them. Not only does it smell sweet and incredible but it also makes the tangles manageable. There’s no tugging, pulling, or tears after each strand is coated with this magic mixture. The leave in conditioner is practically weightless and doesn’t leave an oily residue behind like others I have used on her hair.
Want to know a little secret? There are times I sneak in and use this on my own hair too! It’s that good which is why I have a spare on hand at all times.
SoCozy also has a variety of products that can be used inside of the bath or shower. Each is designed to make hair care easy for parents and their little ones. Their simple multi-functional products provide options and support every hair type including those crazy curls I tackle daily. They smell good, lather like a dream and make styling effortless.
