One of our favorite traditions during the holidays includes gingerbread, a muffin pan full of different candies, candy canes, marshmallows, and vanilla icing to hold it all together. I bet you can guess what edible structure we are planning to build with these sweet goodies. Looking for a fun way to get into the holiday spirit with your family? It’s never too early to make a candy coated Gingerbread House. In fact, it’s just November and we’re already getting started on our first of the year. Yes, first. By December this one will be nibbled through and picked apart so it’s a must that we have a back-up kit hidden in the pantry. Plus practice makes perfect and were up against some stiff competition. Have you seen the Doozers and their GIANT Gingerbread House? Perfection!
This past weekend Toodie and I got into the holiday spirit early by watching the Doozers: Giant Gingerbread House and building our own. I immediately recognized the tiny green construction workers from one of my favorite childhood shows- Fraggle Rock! If you grew up watching Jim Henson’s magical puppets and Muppets then this will take you back in time to relive your own childhood.
While you‘ll meet many Doozers with the series, the main characters include four young Doozers– Spike, Mollybolt, Flex and Daisy Wheel. The animated show takes place in Doozer Creek, a self-sustainable community located just beyond the view of humans. The series focuses on cooperation, teamwork, inventing, technology, and eco-consciousness. Each Doozer kid has different characteristics and skills which make up the bright, bold, and fun “Pod Squad” who share a passion for inventing.
This time the Pod Squad wants to build a Doozer-sized Gingerbread House. But in order to achieve their goal it’s going to take some clever construction to create. Can the Pod Squad do it? You’ll have to watch and find out!
WIN IT: Tis’ the season to get building! Enter to win a copy of Doozers: Giant Gingerbread House on DVD just in time for the holidays.
