With all that sass and a true sense of self, sometimes I think that Toodie really is 6 going on 16. She’s growing right in front of me and I wish I could stop the clock, even if it’s for a short moment. Like most little girls, she has an opinion on everything under the sun. This includes her wardrobe- shirts, shorts, socks, shoes, and all. Over the years I have gotten used to buying her clothes and the majority of the time she was pleased with what I would bring home. Well, that didn‘t last very long because as of lately she prefers to dress herself from head to toe and my input is not requested! Apparently, she has this whole “kid’s fashion” thing under control. At times she walks out of the house looking better than me! Luckily, I hit a home run a few weeks ago when I brought home a bag full of trendy finds from our favorite store, The Children’s Place.

If you haven‘t noticed, we love shopping there. Toodie is excited to have a selection of outfits for the winter and now I have one less thing to worry about during the holidays. The Children’s Place makes it easy for busy moms like myself to find outfits for every occasion, especially when it comes to this hectic time of year. From a visit with Santa to dinner with the family on Christmas Eve, we’re all set and it’s only the first week of December. This never happens. I actually feel accomplished because last year I flopped and forgot about her Christmas dress until the last minute. Not this time!


In their recent collection for girls I noticed an array of pastel colors, textured skirts, glam dresses, ballet flats, embellished tops, photo-real graphics, and subtle sparkle. While I typically gravitate towards the traditional holiday colors, red and green, the pretty pastels caught my eye. My first thought? Sugar plum fairies! You can sweeten up your kid’s style this season with a whole new palette of Spring inspired shades that are fresh and modern.

This Heart Tutu and matching Long Sleeve Embellished Top has sparkle, shine, and a girly touch that is perfect for the season. I love that the skirt has multiple sheer layers and is also past the knee. It can be difficult finding skirts that are an appropriate length when your daughter is so tall. I went back and got the same skirt in a couple of other colors as well. This outfit can be worn for Christmas or even Valentine’s Day next year. Every kid needs that one effortless outfit that looks put together and this is it.

  3. I love the Children's Place. My son is tall but slim and they sell great pants that have the adjustable waist. Their clothes are also very durable which is nice especially with a boy.

There are so many cute things on their website. I really like that they have fun color pants for toddler boys, like the Skinny Chinos in Hampton Red and the Five-Pocket Pants in Plains Org.
