Somewhere over the rainbow you’ll find the most delightful chocolate bark decorated with fun and colorful sweets. White Chocolate Rainbow Candy Bark brightens up the day in the most dazzling way!
RAINBOW CANDY BARK
Bring color to your summer celebration! This recipe for Rainbow Candy Bark could not be any easier. Think of all your favorite treats, piled onto a bed of creamy white chocolate. It’s bright, colorful, and fun for all-ages to snack on. There are many variations floating around the internet, but the best thing about bark is that you can always make it your own. Whether it’s sweet, salty, sour, or a little bit of each, this is one dessert that’s impossible to screw up. Taste the rainbow friends! It’s quite yummy.
For this rainbow candy bark recipe I used white chocolate as the base. I also melted bright yellow, pink, and orange candy melts in three seperate bowls in order to get that pretty rainbow effect. Once melted, they are scooped onto the top of the white chocolate and twisted into a pattern using a toothpick. Simple stuff. If the chocolate is too thick, add a splash of vegetable oil to thin it out. Make sure it’s mixed well to avoid seperation. The oil will give the bark a shiny and smooth texture.
TIP: Whenever you are working with melted chocolate, remember to ACT FAST. It tends to harden very quickly so have your all of your decorations on hand and ready to go. Don’t try to fumble with opening snack bags and sifting through candies at the last minute.
RAINBOW CANDY BARK TOPPINGS
Next, is the fun part! There are so many different types of sweets, treats, and snacks that make great toppings. It’s completely up to you, so be creative.
Here are those that made this candy bark bright and bubbly:
- mini pretzels
- mini marshmallows
- Cotton Candy Captain Crunch Cereal
- Air Heads Extreme Sour Bites
- Nerds candy
- Wilton Rainbow Icing Decorations
- Sixlets chocolate candy
- sparkly rainbow sprinkles (both little and large)
Once you have the bark decorated, allow it to harden for an hour or so. To speed up the process, pop the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 10-15 minutes. Remove and break apart or use a knife to cut into pieces.
