Some of get a little too excited when it comes to sprinkles, myself included!
These sweet and salty trees can be enjoyed as is or used as cupcake toppers for your seasonal festivities. If your Santa is sick of cookies, they’re sure to be a pleasant surprise on Christmas Eve.
CHRISTMAS TREE PRETZELS
To make these edible chocolate Christmas trees, you will need a baking sheet lined with wax paper or a silicone mat. In this case, I used a cutting board because it fits perfectly in the little fridge space I have to work with! In a microwave safe bowl, melt green candy melts in 60 second intervals. Stir constantly until smooth and creamy. If the chocolate is too thick, add a teaspoon of vegetable oil and mix together. Transfer melted chocolate into a decorating bottle. A disposable piping bag works just as well. Don’t have either? Grab a Ziploc and snip one end. VOILA!
Depending on the size of the baking sheet place 8-10 pretzels down. Make sure to leave enough space in between each so that you may create the shape of the tree without them touching one another. Starting at the pretzel base, drizzle melted chocolate back and forth, in a zig-zag motion. Form the shape of a tree and allow it to taper off at the top.
Immediately decorate with sprinkles and add a star to the tip.
Pop the baking sheet in the fridge for an hour to ensure chocolate has hardened. Carefully remove the Chocolate Christmas Tree Pretzels and enjoy!
